     John W. Green wrote in his obituary for Krantz of his unique contributions to the study of 'Bigfoot' otherwise known as sasquatch:

       “His courageous example did much to stimulate participation in the study by both scientists and laymen, and for that he deserves the respect and gratitude of everyone involved, and he did a great deal more than that.
